1. Zero conditional (Câu điều kiện loại 0 ): dùng để diễn đạt một điều kiện luôn luôn đúng và xảy ra ở hiện tại
If+S+ present simple, S+present simple
Ex:
If the customers come in, just smile and say “hello”
If they fight against each other, she will call their parents
2. Mixed conditional: (Câu điều kiện hỗn hợp): dùng để điễn đạt một sự kiện trái với quá khứ dẫn đến kết quả trái với hiện tại
If+ S+had+Pii, S+would/could/should/might+bare-infinitive
Ex:
If it had not snowed last night, the road would not be slippery now
If John had followed my advice, he wouldn’t be in such a difficult situation now.
3. Một số loại điều kiện khác không sử dụng mệnh đề if
- Câu điều kiện trái với hiện tại
Without + noun
But for + noun , S+would/could+bare infinitive
Were it not for + noun
- Câu điều kiện trái với quá khứ
Without+noun
But for+noun , S+would/could+have+Pii
Had it not been for+noun
4. Câu điều kiện đảo ngữ
- Câu điều kiện trái với hiện tại
If+S+Ved /were sẽ chuyển thành Ved/were + S
Ex:
Were I you, I would ask her for a date
- Câu điều kiện trái với quá khứ
If + S+had+Pii sẽ chuyển thành: Had+S+Pii
Ex:
Had we known this group would do such a poor job, we wouldn’t have given them the contract.
